Remember the Royal Dansk blue tin? The buttery rich taste which makes your evening a classical and a perfect one. Danish butter cookies do the same. A very easy recipe with few ingredients will give you a little crisp and delicacy. You will only need a few ingredients which you can find from your kitchen. Let’s see how we are going to make these scrumptious cookies.     


Butter 100g
Icing Sugar 65g
Vanilla extract 1tsp
All-purpose flour 155g
Milk (if need) ½ tbsp.
Cornstarch ½ tbsp. mixed with 1tbsp with water
Granulated sugar 1tbsp for decoration

How to make the Danish Cookies

First, we will need a large mixing bowl and add diced butter into it. Then add icing sugar and beat well until the mixture becomes a smooth buttercream. Take the cornstarch and water mixture and pour it into the buttercream. Beat well. Add vanilla, flour and granulated sugar while mixing the cream. If the mixture is too dry, then add milk. Beat till you get non-sticky and not melted dough.

Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180C and take the tray which goes into the oven. Place an oil paper or parchment paper on the tray. On the baking sheet, use a piping bag to get the real Danish cookies shape. Use the flower tipped nozzle to get the shape of the cookies as in the picture above.

On the other hand, if the dough is hard to pipe, add a little bit of milk to the dough. Instead of using a piping bag, you can use cookie cutters. Roll the dough on a flat surface and cut it into shapes using cookie cutters.  Place shaped cookies on the baking sheet while keeping space. If you want the cookies to be firmed place it in the fridge for 30 minutes. So then the cookies will not spread while baking and cookies will keep the pretty piped or cut shape.

Bake in the preheated oven of 180C for 15 – 20 minutes till the edges of the cookies become golden brown.

Finally, Take the tray out of the oven and let the cookies cool for 12 minutes. Then you can enjoy the classical crumbling Danish Butter Cookies.
