When speaking about the higher education of people in the world, there are two types of thinking patterns in society. While some people believe in pursuing higher education prior to committing to money-making, some others will prefer prioritizing the making of a living. The reasons for this choice may vary with each individuals’ background. While this is a choice for a few, the majority of the youth can be identified as being forced into either path. Here it is important to notice the ideals of the society where the older generations tend to think that everyone should pursue higher education to secure their future. However, over the time this thinking has proven wrong as we witness many college dropouts have become the founders of multimillion corporations around the world while some university graduates protest demanding job opportunities
One reality we have to admit in addressing this issue is that society forms different needs which require different professionals to fulfill them. Thus, creating educational opportunities without considering the need of the era would generate personnel with qualifications but suffer from unemployment. Simultaneously, there will be opportunities that cannot be fulfilled with the workforce of the country. This will harm the GDP of the country as unemployment is increased annually.
Therefore, it is important to admit the value of each profession of the society and to encourage younger generations to opportunities cater to the needs of the country. To maintain the balance among the professions in the country it is essential for some youth to develop their skills through vocational training while some pursue higher education at the university level and beyond
The career path selection can be done at an earlier stage after completing the school level. With the correct guidance, the youth can be motivated to pick their favorite lifestyles as they become adults. This would benefit both individuals and society in many ways. Job satisfaction, improved quality of life, high productivity and the ability to fast-track career goals are some benefits that an individual may experience with ideal career selection. High contribution to GDP, low unemployment rate, and abolishing poverty are some benefits that a country may achieve with this concept. When comparing the situation in developing countries with developed countries, the practicality of this can be proven
Thus, the success of a person is independent of becoming a university graduate but depends on correct career path selection at early age. So, I believe that everyone need not go to universities to be successful in their life
